Daicel corporation was informed through the merger of eight celluloid producers in 1919.
Daicel's history began with the manufacture of celluloid from cellulose nitrate, a cellulosic derivative. Today, one of our core businesses — derived from our celluloid production technology — is production of various cellulosic derivatives such as cellulose acetate, acetate tow for cigarette filters, and water-soluble polymers. Anionic cellulose derivative Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is made from natural pulp, thanks to its high safety as thickener tackifier、 emulsification、binder、protective colloid, this product has wide application in construction、oil drilling、fish feed、foodstuffs、pharmaceuticals、cosmetics、dyeing among other uses.
As the water-born binder of the cathode material, it has following properties：
1、 Molecular weight（viscosity）：
the more molecular weight ,the higher agglomeration ,the higher peeling strength
2、 Degree of etherification：
the higher etherification the lower residual, the lower etherification the higher peeling strength.
3、 DS distribution：
uneven distribution has high construction viscidity; even distribution can improve the dispersion.
For the lithium battery this product has an excellent adhesion、thickening、strengthen characteristics.
